The retail apocalypse has claimed Party City and Big Lots. It’s truly the end of an era but at least these businesses can be put out of their misery. With the rise of e-commerce and technological advancement, retailers who refuse to evolve just won’t make it. Party City in particular, isn’t selling anything dollar stores, Target or Amazon doesn’t at a cheaper price. Big Lots was also outpaced by competitors who invested more into e-commerce and were offering better merchandise. People weren’t shopping at these places anyways, so will they really be missed? My heart goes out to the retail workers who are losing their jobs right before Christmas. Let’s talk in the comments.
